New life for laptops

New life for laptops

The business and technology are both moving incredibly fast. What was new and modern few years ago can now be outdated and not meeting latest requirements. But, does it mean it can't be reused and live its new life? We believe in sustainability and 'no-waste' policy in Toyota Boshoku Europe, therefore we gave 50 laptops which were no longer in use to the youngest!

Our IT Department  donated almost 50 laptops to 2 schools in Belgium: De Loep and Keerpunt Scholen.

The equipment was no longer in use as it was not performant enough to run the latest software our company requires, but for school purpose it was more than suitable.

During the meeting with children, we explained what CSR means to Toyota Boshoku and gave examples of how we, as a company contribute to both the environment and society, by illustrating this with examples of our latest CSR activities t, but also how we monitor/lower in our plants the consumption of power, water and CO2 emissions.

Joy from receiving laptops was as much fulfilling as children's curiosty about company's contribution to society and environmental footprint.
